For more than 65 years… Monona Grove Nursery School (MGNS) has been a place where children grow, explore, and discover the world through the magic of play. Families return year after year because they know that MGNS isn’t just a school — it’s a place where children are nurtured, valued, and inspired. You probably know someone whose child attends MGNS, attended themselves, or is connected to our wonderful community.
In the summer of 2025, MGNS moved just one block away from our former location to 4019 Hegg Avenue in Madison, WI! In our new home, the heart of MGNS has remained unchanged, including our parent co-op structure and commitment to play-based learning. Our new space — both indoors and out — supports and amplifies this philosophy, offering even more opportunities for discovery, joy, and growth, while maintaining the warmth and familiarity our families have loved for over 65 years.
We completed renovations including a new playground, the addition of several bathrooms and a cubby room, and moving walls to make our classrooms bigger and better! But we still need your help! We launched this Capital Campaign not only to raise the funds to complete our phased renovations, but to ensure the longevity of our school. We are thankful to all of those who have donated money or made in kind donations!

Become a Champion of Play!
Champions of Play are individuals and organizations who have pledged to support MGNS through monthly ongoing gifts of $10 or more. These sustaining givers are essential to our ongoing budget and future project planning. Every Champion of Play will be recognized at our school, on the MGNS website, and on our social media outreach. A complimentary Monona Grove Nursery School T-Shirt will be delivered to each and every Champions of Play.
